Sweet Annie Spagyric Tincture
from $39.95

All of our herbal extracts use organically grown and/or ethically wildcrafted herbs and certified organic food-grade ethanol diluted to specific potencies in filtered and/or distilled rainwater, unless otherwise specified.

Sweet Annie (Artemisia annua), otherwise known as sweet wormwood or huang hua hao, is a highly aromatic annual herb native to Asia and is now widely cultivated in temperate climates around the world. Known for its florally bitter taste and aromatic fragrance, Sweet Annie has been utilised in traditional Eastern medicine and parts of Africa for centuries. Traditionally regarded as a tonic for the liver, helping to stimulate bile production and improve digestion, Sweet Annie also has a long-standing reputation for its immunomodulating capabilities, often employed in fever-reducing remedies or to support the body's response to infections and pathogens.

In modern herbalism, the resounding initial thought on Sweet Annie goes to its significant antimalarial activity, due to the presence several bioactive metabolites but particularly artemisinin, which has inspired pharmaceutical counterparts. Artemisinin, has potent anti-protozoal properties, working to target the Plasmodium parasite that causes malaria, disrupting its ability to reproduce in red blood cells. Artemisinin has also shown promise as an antiviral, with in vitro studies suggesting it may have activity against coronaviruses, including SARS-CoV-2 - the virus responsible for COVID-19. This preliminary research suggests that artemisinin derivatives may help to inhibit viral replication and reduce viral load in COVID-19 patients, although more clinical trials are needed.

Hypericum Infused Castor Oil
from $59.95

Our Hypericum (Saint John’s/Joan’s) wort & Castor Body Oil is a synergistic combination of fresh flowering tops of hypericum infused in certified organic castor oil.

Traditionally, topical application of hypericum has been used for nerve pain relief and tissue repair, as well as in treating herpes simplex outbreaks. For maximum potency and quality, we infuse fresh, bruised hypericum in 100% certified organic castor oil (Ricinus communis). Castor oil, known in antiquity as Oleum Cicinum, is nutrient-rich and contains ricinoleic acid. Hyperipine Salve
from $45.00

This balm is specially formulated with potent extracts of St John’s wort and pine resin with rosehip oil, castor oil and mango butter for sensitive, stressed, or slow-to-heal skin environments where both nourishment and gentle antimicrobial support is required.

St John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum)has been traditionally used throughout Europe for “fiery” skin states, minor burns, bruising, nerve-associated injuries, and general tissue repair. Contemporary research supports Hypericum’s topical benefits for superficial wounds, epithelial healing, mild inflammation, and neuropathic discomfort, attributed primarily to hypericin, hyperforin, and flavonoid content. Castor oil enhances these actions by offering deep penetration, softening dry or hardened tissues, and providing a gentle antimicrobial base.

Pine resin has been used in folk medicine across the Mediterranean and Northern Europe as a drawing, antiseptic, and vulnerary agent. The resin assists in protecting minor cuts, supporting natural wound closure, and maintaining cleanliness due to its resinous acids, which show antimicrobial activity in vitro. It contributes a slightly "warming" and mobilising quality traditionally valued for stiff, cold, or congested areas.

Rich in essential fatty acids (linoleic, linolenic) and natural vitamin A derivatives, rosehip supports skin regeneration, barrier repair, and moisture balance. Evidence suggests benefits for reducing the appearance of scars, improving skin texture, and supporting collagen formation — making it a harmonising companion to Hypericum in restorative blends.

The butter base for this salve is derived from mango. Traditionally used for its soothing, emollient nature, mango butter adds a protective lipid layer that supports dry, irritated, or weather-exposed skin, sealing in moisture while keeping the salve glide light and non-greasy.
