Spagyrics Mullein (Leaf) Spagyric Tincture

Mullein (Leaf) Spagyric Tincture

from $39.95

Spagyric tinctures are prepared through an alchemical process that honours the full anatomy of the plant: the spirit, soul, and body. The volatile oils (soul), water & alcohol-soluble components (spirit), and purified mineral salts (body) are individually separated, refined, and then intentionally reunited. The result is a living preparation, not merely an extract, that carries the full life-force and signature intelligence of the plant in an exceptionally bioavailable form.

All of our herbal extracts use organically grown and/or ethically wildcrafted herbs and certified organic food-grade ethanol diluted to specific potencies in filtered and/or distilled rainwater, unless otherwise specified.

Mullein leaf (Verbascum thapsus & V. olympicum), a member of the Scrophulariaceae family, has long been venerated for being a soothing restorative herb to the respiratory system in particular. Traditionally, mullein was used to treat ailments of the lungs, from common colds to chronic respiratory ailments, and as a gentle herb to promote mucosal healing and clear phlegm. Modern herbalists continue to value mullein as a mild relaxant, demulcent, and expectorant, providing support in cases of cough, hoarseness, bronchitis, asthma, tuberculosis, pneumonia, and dry, irritating coughs.

Mullein has cooling, moistening, and softening energetics, which can make it especially useful for calming inflamed or irritated respiratory tissues and moistening dry, irritated membranes. It is often used for conditions involving chronic dryness or heat in the lungs, throat, and bronchial passages. This makes mullein particularly effective for dry coughs, wheezing, and bronchial congestion.

Mullein’s gentle expectorant action aids in clearing mucus and phlegm from the airways, while its soothing properties reduce inflammation and help ease the passage of breath. It is especially beneficial for individuals with lung weakness or chronic respiratory complaints, and its demulcent action also provides relief from throat irritation or hoarseness due to overuse or environmental factors (e.g., particulate matter, dry air).
